Step 2
Deploy your app
From an empty dashboard to a live URL. The first deploy uses the free demo app so you can see the whole flow before adding credit.
- 1
Create an account
Sign up at /signup. You land in a workspace with a demo plan and an empty wallet. - 2
Create a project
Press New project. Enter a name, paste the repository URL, confirm the branch and Dockerfile path, and leave Demo app checked for the first deploy. - 3
Deploy
Press Create and deploy. The build log streams into the deployment panel. When the health check passes, the app is marked running. - 4
Open the URL
Your app receives an address likeyour-app.demo.apps.your-domain. Demo apps sleep when idle; use Start in the dashboard to wake one. - 5
Add a database
Open Databases, create Postgres or MySQL, and attach it to the app. The connection variables are added automatically. See Databases. - 6
Connect a domain
Add a custom domain from the project's Domains tab, then create the DNS record. See Domains & SSL.
What the project needs
Project settings
repository github.com/your-org/your-app
branch main
Dockerfile Dockerfile
port 3000The app must listen on one HTTP port. Do not hard-code a public port; Goldenhost handles the public address and HTTPS.
Redeploying
Push a new commit, then press Deploy on the project. Each deploy is recorded with its commit and log. If the new version fails its health check, the previous running version stays online.
Demo limits
- • 0.1 vCPU, 128 MB memory, 256 MB disk.
- • 64 MB database, no backups.
- • 5 build minutes per month.
- • Sleeps after 15 minutes idle; removed after 7 idle days.
- • One demo app, no custom domains.
Move to a paid app before you point real traffic or store real customer data. Paid apps keep running while the wallet has credit.
